How we carry out carpentry work.
Every carpentry visit begins with the intended result rather than a generic task label. We ask what must be repaired, fitted or made, how it will be used and which existing surfaces it must meet. Photographs and approximate dimensions are useful for planning, but bespoke shelving, cabinetry or an irregular opening may need a measuring visit before a final specification is possible. The carpenter checks the substrate, nearby services, access and whether the property is occupied so the method and protection can be agreed.
Materials are then matched to the use and visible finish. Solid timber, plywood, MDF and veneered boards behave differently, accept different fixings and require suitable preparation before paint, oil or lacquer.
