DRAWERS DESERVE THEIR OWN CHECK
A drawer should engage and travel as intended, not just close for a photograph. Its cabinet needs to be square before meaningful front adjustment can be made.

Check drawer engagement and travel rather than forcing a binding runner.
The frame, feet where adjustable, and supplied hardware work together. Checks follow the product’s normal operation and leave any outstanding safety requirement explicit.
WALL FIXING / ANTI-TIP
Do not limit anti-tip planning to wardrobes. If the chest instructions require anchoring, raise that requirement before the assembly appointment.
Anchoring is only undertaken where suitable and agreed. A chest with an unmet mandatory restraint requirement is not ready for normal use, even if every drawer has been assembled.
Missing or damaged components should be identified against the product information. A manufacturer replacement may be needed to complete the affected drawer or frame.
Old furniture screws are not interchangeable with new fittings. Preserve labels and part references instead of choosing a substitute by appearance.

COORDINATING A REPLACEMENT
Whoever arranges the work should distinguish furniture being assembled from pieces being removed. Both the room and the agreed scope depend on that distinction.
Choose a temporary place for drawer contents and confirm whether the old chest stays. Ask separately about moving or dismantling it if the new unit needs that space.
During a furnishing changeover, provide access contact details and a complete replacement list. Resolve restraint permissions without assuming an empty tenancy removes that requirement.
Check the new chest’s instructions before discussing any wall attachment with your landlord. Assembly permission and permission to drill are separate considerations.
