How we mount a television.
Before the visit, we request the television model, screen size and weight, bracket specification and photographs of the full wall. We ask about wall construction, fireplace openings, sockets, intended devices and preferred viewing position. The customer confirms whether the bracket is supplied and complete. Very large screens, stone finishes, high positions and restricted stairs can require additional installers or specialist access.
On arrival, the installer assembles or checks the bracket and confirms its rated load and VESA compatibility. The proposed centre and height are marked relative to seating and furniture. The wall is assessed for substrate and likely hidden services using available evidence and detection, although no detector guarantees every pipe or cable. If structure cannot support the chosen bracket or the proposed area conflicts with services, alternatives are discussed before drilling.
Suitable fixings are installed and the wall plate is levelled and secured. Television-side rails are attached with correct spacers and bolts, avoiding excessive thread depth. The screen is lifted with enough people for its size and weight, engaged with the bracket and locked according to the manufacturer. Full-motion brackets are checked through their travel so cables do not pull and the screen does not collide with adjacent surfaces.
Accessible HDMI, aerial, power and device cables are connected as agreed, then basic function and alignment are checked. Concealing mains flexes inside walls without a compliant electrical solution is not offered as a shortcut; new sockets require an electrician. Can a TV be mounted on plasterboard?
Often, but the board, framing, cavity and screen load determine the fixing strategy. Some installations need structural reinforcement or a different position.
How is the correct height chosen?
It depends on seating, viewing distance, screen size, room use and obstacles. The position is marked and agreed before drilling.
Can you hide all cables?
Surface cable management can be included. Concealed power or data routes require assessment, and mains work must use a compliant electrical solution.
Can you mount above a fireplace?
